Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which, even when injection-molded at low temperature, can give a molding having a uniform surface without detriment to its inherent properties, by mixing a glass fiber-containing flame- retarding polyester resin mixture with a specified small amount of an ethylene/ vinyl acetate copolymer resin and talc. CONSTITUTION:The title composition comprising 100pts.wt. mixture (A) comprising 100pts.wt. thermoplastic polyester resin (a), 3-30pts.wt. halogenated flame retardant (b) (e.g., decabromodiphenyl ether), 0.5-10pts.wt. Sb compound (c) (e.g., Sb2O3), 0.5-6pts.wt. ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer (d) and 2.5-15pts.wt. talc and having a component (d) to component (e) weight ratio of 0.2-1.0 and 10-100pts.wt. glass fiber (B). This composition possesses flame retardancy, high heat resistance, and high strength and can give a molding having a uniform surface in spite of the addition of the glass fiber when injection-molded at a mold temperature as low as 40-80 deg.C.
