Abstract
PURPOSE: To achieve the reduction in the injection time with the large-size device and the reduction in orientation defective region length by forming a plurality of liquid crystal injection ports by notches of sealing members to one side out of the four sides of the side faces of the liquid crystal display device.
CONSTITUTION: Injection ports 3 are provided in plurality by way of a suitable spacing to one side of the longer sides of the sealing members 2 which couple two sheets of substrates 1. In this case, it is necessary that the injection ports 3 be provided to the other side excluding the sides where there are electrode lead parts 5 which are led out from the transparent electrodes in the display device when the sealing members are solder or the like. When sealing is to be done with non-metallic material having no conductivity, existence of the electrode lead parts 5 and injection ports 3 on the same side is of no problem. It is desirable that the ratio between the length A of the sealing member 2a of the injection ports 3 and the width B of the injection port 3 be A≫B.
