Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide the device which is capable of conveying originals at a fixed speed by adding a flywheel which is rotated only in the second copying mode in the copying machine which is provided with the first copying mode wherein the original is held stationary and the optical system is moved and the second copying mode wherein the optical system is held stationary and the original is moved and which is capable of either of these.
CONSTITUTION: An original platen 1 is placed on top of the copying machine body and a mirror 2 being the exposure optical system is disposed in the lower part. In the first copying mode, the mirror 2 reciprocates from the solid line position up to the dotted line position but in the second copying mode, the original platen 1 moves to the right and left while the mirror is held stationary in the solid line position. In the second copying mode, the conveying speed of the original gives an important influence upon the formation of the copying images and therefore strict speed control is desired but the formation of the copying images is liable to receive the effect of belt tension, pulley eccentricity and intermeshing of gears. Hence, a flywheel is provided and since this enables the minute speed fluctuations of the original conveying device to be absorbed, it is possible to convey the original at a fixed speed.
