Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a separator for alkali cell of good hydrophilic property and high durability by using an unwoven fabric of a specifically proportioned polyolefin- polyamide mixed fibers. CONSTITUTION:An unwoven fabric of a polyolefin-polyamide mixed fibers containing 3-15wt% polyamide is used as a separator for alkali cell. As the polyamide, nylon-6 is preferably in particular, then comes nylon-66, nylon-11, nylon-12, etc., and also as the polyolefin, polypropylene is most preferable, the comes polyethylene, ionomer resins, or copolymers of these. The preferred blending ratio of polyamide is 5-10wt%. Thus, the hydrophilic property of polyamide can be harmonized with the durability of polyolefin, and hence a separator good in hydrophilic property and durability can be obtained.
