Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of cell and save its material as well as enhance its discharge characteristic by increasing apparent surface area by mixing a specific ratio of fine hollow granular substance, e.g., shirasu ballon etc., with an active substance. CONSTITUTION:An active substance, e.g., lead, zinc, silver oxide, nickel, cadmium, etc., is mixed with a fine hollow granular substance, ferrite, Shirasu balloon, silica balloon, carbon halloon, etc., in a proportion of 0.1-300%. The fine hollow granular substance is preferably plated with silver. Thus, the active substance powder is adhered to the fine hollow granular substance to form a thin layer, whereby apparent specific gravity is increased and discharge characteristic is also enhanced. In addition, the cell weight can be reduced and the cell material can be curtailed.
