Abstract
PURPOSE: To manufacture a pneumatic motor used for driving toys or the like with ease and economically, by supporting a rotor in freely rotatable manner in a stator which has a swash plate cam constituting one side wall of the same and is formed with an air intake groove and an exhaust groove in the other side wall.
CONSTITUTION: When air compressed to a proper pressure is supplied from inlet port 4, it is passed through an arcuate intake groove 3 and flows into those cylinders 9 which are aligned with the groove 3, so that pistons 10 are urged onto swash plate cam 2. Therefore, pistons 10 are caused to slide over the surface of swash plate cam 2 downwardly along the inclined surface of the same, thereby causing rotation of rotor 7. At the same time, those pistons located on the opposite side of the above- mentioned pistons are caused to slide over the surface of cam 2 toward a higher portion of the same, so that air in mating cylinders 9 is discharged to the outside via arcuate exhaust groove 5 and outlet port 6. Here, since drag to the rotation of rotor 7 is acted by the exhaust air, sectional areas of the arcuate exhaust groove 5 and outlet port 6 are made as large as possible, so as to reduce the drag acted by the exhaust gas and to thereby increase output of the motor.
