Abstract
PURPOSE:To facilitate insertion of the balance weight into the installation groove and ensure film fixing during insertion by dividing the balance weight into two sections, each having a form of parallelogram. CONSTITUTION:A balance weight, which is installed to remove unbalance produced on the rotary body such as steam turbine and rotor, is divided into 2 sections: 15A and 15B. Each balance weight 15A or 15B is formed into a parallelogram which has a triangular portion as its integral part. When it is installed on the dovetail installation groove 11 in the attaching area 6 of the shaft 2, the installation can be easily made through the opening of the groove 11 because each weight 15A or 15B has a form of parallelogram. Both weights inserted into the groove 11 are fitted at the inclined sections 16A, 16B, 17A and 17B with screws 10A and 10B tightened into screw holes 14A and 14B. Thus, the balance weight can be firmly fixed through the function of the dovetail groove.
