Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the shock to the stopper of an actuator plate for exhausting a storage tank in which the plate for dividing it into front and rear chambers is internally mounted slidably by connecting both the chambers via a pipe and providing a control valve interlocked with the movement of the plate at the connecting portion of the pipe.

CONSTITUTION: When an actuator plate 7 is retarded to a solid line position, a check valve 18' is opened and an air pump is driven, the air in the front chamber 9 is intaken through a check valve 18, a pipe 10, the check valve 18', the rear chamber 8, a safety valve 35 and a pipe (not shown) and exhausted into the atmospere to thereby reduce the pressure in the chamber 9. When a valve 39 of an intake conduit 13 is opened, sludge is flown into the chamber 9. In order to discharge the sludge in the chamber 9, a cover 4 is opened by a cylinder 5, a control valve (not shown) is switched to introduce the air from an air pump from the safety valve 35 into the rear chamber 8 to thus move the plate 7 rightwardly. When the plate 7 is acted onto a push-up piece 21 to open the check valve 17, it is decelerated to thereby reduce the shock to the stopper (not shown).
