Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an antifugal material useful as hospital goods, e.g. bedcovers, etc., and having high and long-acting antifungal properties, by polymerizing an acidic group-containing monomer, etc. and bonding the acidic groups ionically with bis-(p-chlorophenyldiguanide)-hexane.
CONSTITUTION: An acidic group-containing monomer, e.g. (meth)acrylic acid, sulfopropyl acrylate, arylphosphoric acid, etc., is copolymerized with a monomer, e.g. (meth)acrylic esters, acrylonitrile, styrene, etc. The acidic groups of the copolymer are bonded ionically with bis-(p-chlorophenyldiguanide)-hexane expressed by the formula to give the desired antifungal material.
USE: Hospital goods, e.g. bedcovers, sheets, bandage germfree wears, etc., marine paints, building wall paints, filtering media, ion exchange materials, dialysis membrances, packaging materials, etc.
