Abstract
PURPOSE:To make possible stable fusion-connection by providing holding mechanisms which opposedly hold the fusion welding surfaces of the two materials to be fusion-welded and approaching said holding mechanisms to each other. CONSTITUTION:Two materials to be fusion-welded A, B are held to holding bases 6, 6A with the fusion-welding end faces thereof being opposed. An abutting shaft 38 is lowered to set the spacing between the fusion-welding end faces. Thence, the moving tables 3, 3A connecting to the holding bases 6, 6A are moved and when the spacing of the two materials to be fusion-welded A, B reaches 0.03mm, discharge is started by electrodes. This discharge causes the materials A, B to start fusing. Thence, fine-adjustment feed is applied to the moving tables 3, 3A to be slided by 0.015mm in the central direction, whereby the materials A, B are contacted. When the tables are further slided by 0.015mm, the materials A, B are held heated and fused, hence the fusion-welding parts are force-contacted, whereby perfect fusion welding may be accomplished.
