Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable a driver on a driver's seat to take a full view of a field which has been considered as a blind area, by providing a periscope type mirror device, which consists of an object glass and an ocular piece, in the vicinity of the left corner of the upper surface of a driver's cabin of a motor-vehicle. CONSTITUTION:An object lens 4 consisting of a concave lens or a concave Fresnel lens capable of reflecting a field, which cannot be reflected on a main outside mirror (b) and an under mirror, is provided in a housing of a periscope type mirror device attached to the vicinity of the left corner of an upper portion of a roof of a driver's cabin of a motor-vehicle 1. An image reflected in the object lens 4 is reflected on a reflector 2, or the reflector 2 and an ocular piece 3, which are provided in the housing 5, to advance toward an eye point EP of a driver. The mirror device of the above-described cnstruction permits a driver to take a full view of a field which has been considered as a blind field. Therefore, the mirror device serves to prevent a pedestrian, etc. from being caught by the motor vehicle when it turns to left.
