Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable even image density to be obtained without uneven development by putting the toner having been charged to the specified polarity in a floating state in the developing part of the copying machine and letting the toner be deposited on the electrostatic latent images by the electrostatic attraction force of the electrostatic latent images. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 8 turns in the arrow direction and the spacing between the same and the surface of a toner conveying roller 10 is kept at 1.0 to 3.0 mm. Voltage VD (-200 to -250V) is being applied to the conductive silicone rubber 12 provided to the roller 10. Voltage VE (+50 to +250V) of the polarity opposite from that of the electrostatic latent images on the drum 8 is being applied to a charge injection electrode 18. The roller 10 turns in the arrow direction and the toner 14 is separated from the roller surface by a scraper 19 and is put in a floating state in the developing part D. Hence, the toner 14 deposits only on the electrostatic latent image portions of the roller 18. Voltage (-50 to -100V) VR is being applied to a toner recovery roller 20 which is provided in the position where no adverse influence is given to the developed images.
