Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent a silver halide photographic material from charging, by adding a specified compound to nonphotosensitive layers of the above material.
CONSTITUTION: To nonphotosensitive layers (preferably, a surface protection layer, a backing layer, an overcoat layer, or the like) of a photographic material in an amount of about 0.01 to 1, preferably 0.03 to 0.4g/m2 of the material a compound of formula I (R1 to R8 are 1 to 8C alkyl, alkoxy, 6 to 12C aryl, OH, carboxy, or H; R9 to R12 are halogen or H; 4 or more of R1 to R8 are H, but all of them are not simultaneously H; R13 is 1 to 10 alkylene or 8 to 10C aralkylene; X1 - and X2 - are each an anion; and n is 1 to 100) or a compound of formula II (R14 and R15 are 1 to 10C alkyl, 6 to 10C cycloalkyl, 7 to 10C aralkyl, 6 to 12C aryl, or 2 to 10C alkenyl; and R16 to R23 are as same as R1 to R8 but all of them are not simultaneously H.
