Abstract

PURPOSE: To save the labor for the packaging of "natto" with a covering film and a packaging film, by heat-pressing a perforated film to a container containing boiled soybeans, and carrying out the fermentation of the soybeans.
CONSTITUTION: A container 11 containing boiled soybeans 12 inoculated with Bacillus natto, is placed in a cavity 3a of a retainer 3. The upper opening of the container 11 is covered with a clear plastic film 13, and the retainer 3 is pushed into a frame 1 and placed just under a sealing heater 6. The heater 6 is lowered with an air-cylinder 4 to weld the film 13 to the container 11, and at the same time, to perforate the film 13 with needles 7 mounted to the lower face of the heater 6. The container 11 sealed with the film 13 having the perforations 13a is taken out of the retainer 3, and the soybeans are fermented in a fermenting chamber.
