Abstract
PURPOSE: A composition capable of controlling the adhesion of living things in the water, having paralysis action in extremely low concentration on living things in the water and high safety free from environmental contamination, cosisting of a specific organotin compound as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of one or more organotin compounds shown by the formula (R is 1W4C alkyl; X is halogen, organic carboxylic acid residue, lower dialhyldithiocarbamate, etc.) known as an insecticide, bactericide, or herbicide, as active ingredients. For example, added to seawater cooling system of plants as sloution, the composition prevents living things in the water, e.g., a hard-shelled mussel, a brancle, etc. from attaching to the pipe walls. It is usable as a coating compound for constructions in the water or fishing nets and can be decomposed quickly by ultraviolet light. The decomposition product has very low toxicity. The composition has paralysis action in low concentration (for example, 0.001W0.5ppm used in the water cooling system) on living things in the water. The concentration difference between practical application and a fatol dose is so big that the compositon can be used safely.
