Abstract
PURPOSE: To restrain the increase of NOX efficiently by promoting the signal negative pressure relatively to supply to an exhaust gas returning control valve at the time of cylinder-number controlling for enlarging the opening of the control valve.
CONSTITUTION: In this engine, for example, injection pulse signals to fuel injection valves 3aW3c are cut by a cylinder-number controlling circuit 2 at the time of a light load. Here, into a negative pressure operating chamber 20 of an exhaust gas returning control valve 12, a VC negative pressure diluted and controlled by the air is supplied through a negative pressure control device 21, which is composed of a negative pressure control chamber 26 separated by three diaphragms 22W24 connected with each other, a pressure chamber 27, an air chamber 28, and an exhaust pressure chamber 29. The pressure chamber 27 is connected to a negative pressure passage 45 through a three-way electromagnetic valve 41 to be excited and opened at the time of three cylinder operation, and thus, a control negative pressure P is relatively promoted for enlarging the opening of the above-written control valve 12.
