Abstract

PURPOSE: To roll the material to be rolled to the plate of symmetrical shapes of its leading and trailing ends and less shape defect portions by subjecting the material having undergone reduction correction through changing of roll gap during rolling to incline rolling involving strong reduction at the leading end in the rolling direction and light reduction in the trailing end after rotation of 90°.
CONSTITUTION: In order to improve the plane shape after ending of rolling in the plate rolling process, the reduction correction rolling of controlling the sectional shape in the rolling direction of the material to be rolled is performed by changing the roll gap. In the rolling process of rolling by rotating the material to be rolled 90° after the reduction correction rolling, the incline rolling involving strong reduction of the leading end in the rolling direction and the light reduction in the trailing end is performed for plural passes. This reduces the asymmetry of the shape defect portions produced at the leading and trailing ends of the material to be rolled.
