Abstract

PURPOSE: To ensure that printing condition can be confirmed from outside during printing work by using the sum signal of a read scanning signal for a camera unit and a position signal on a sensitive material member as a character image display deflection signal.
CONSTITUTION: A light flux which has been fed from a light source 1 and has selectively irradiated a character on a character panel 4 is projected onto a sensitive member 11 on a drum 10, to print a character image. A camera unit 18 for obtaining a character signal comprises: a monitor optical system consisting of a half-mirror 19 and a lens 20; a picture tube 21; and a control circuit 22. A present-position signal setting unit 23 comprises an X-position register 24 and a Y-position register 25. A display unit 27 receives an image signal from the unit 18, receives the sum signal of a saw-tooth wave signal fed from a saw-tooth oscillator 26 and a present-position signal fed from the unit 23 as a display deflection signal, and displays a character image in a predetermined position on a display means 28.
