Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet head wherein clogging of nozzle is eliminated the repetitive frequency of injection is increased, and concentration of printing is easily controlled by providing a valve element within a head for opening and closing a nozzle orifice. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet head is comprising a micro nozzle orifice 3, a valve element 7 to open and close the nozzle orifice 3, an electric-mechanical converting device (electrostrictive vibrator 1 and vibrating plate 2) actuating the valve needle 7, and an ink passage 8 to feed the pressurized ink fluid with a pump 10 from a tank 9. This allows the nozzle 3 to communicate with the ink passage 3 by releasing the valve needle 7 from the nozzle 3, developing the pressure wave by forwarding the valve needle 7 to the nozzle 3, permitting to inject the ink from the nozzle 3, and causing to close the nozzle 3 by the valve needle 7.
