Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:A dipropyl thiolphosphate of formula I (R is H or methyl group).
USE: Insect expellents having powerful insecticidal effects on organophosphorus-or carbamate-resistant insects, with low toxicity to mammals and fishes.
PROCESS: A dispropylthiophosphoric acid (alkali metal or ammonium salt) of formula I (M is H, alkali metal, or ammonium) is reacted with a 2-ethyl (or isopropyl)thioethyl halide of formula III (X is halogen), preferably in the presence of an inert solvent or a diluent, at 0W100°C to give the objective compound of formula I.
