Abstract
PURPOSE: Title composition that is made by adding an ethylene-α-olefin copolymer to polyethylene, thus being suitably used in blow and extrusion moldings because of its high processability, impact strength, and resistance to environmental cracking.
CONSTITUTION: 0.5W9 Parts of the copolymer of 0.88W0.93, preferably 0.885W 0.91 density, 0.001W0.14 melt index, and 150,000W500,000 viscosity-average molecular weight that is composed of 85W96, preferably 90W95mol% of ethylene and 15W4, preferably 10W5mol% of other α-olefins of R-CH=CH2 (R is 1W12C alkyl) are mixed with 99.5W91 parts of an ethylene homopolymer of 0.95W0.977 density, 0.01W1.0 melt index, 800,000W300,000, preferably 100,000W200,000 viscosity-average molecular weight or a copolymer thereof with an α-olefin, which is the same as the above component, of 0.01W1mol% to give title composition with a melt index of less than 0.1.
