Abstract

PURPOSE: Title composition that is made by adding a plasticizer to a specific polyvinyl acetal, thus having high penetration resistance and adhesion to glass over a wide range of temperature and preventing glass from shattering.
CONSTITUTION: To 100 parts by wt of polyvinyl acetal resin containing 0.3W15 mol% of carboxyl groups, in which resin modified the carboxyl groups to its salt and ester is included, preferably a polyvinyl butyral of 50W80mol% acetalization degree and 800W2600 polymerization degree, are added 20W80 parts of usual plasticizer for polyvinyl acetal, preferably triethylene glycol di-2-ethylbutyrate and they are kneaded.
USE: Safety glass for cars and aircrafts.
