Abstract

PURPOSE:To weld and manufacture vessels, etc. of high strength and superior reliability and safety by submerged arc welding the captioned steel by the use of the welding wire containing the respectively limited amounts of Ni, Aland Mo and the spray flux containing Al (alloy) of the amount by which the Al content coefficient is specified. CONSTITUTION:The captioned steel (e.g., 9% Ni steel) is submerged-arc-welded by using the welding wire containing Ni; 42 to 80%, Al; 0.01 to 1.5% and Mo; 8 to 25% and others such as respectively 3% or under of C and V, respectively 5% or under of Mn and Nb, respectively 2% or under of Si and Ti, and one or more kinds of Cr<=30% or W<=10% and the undermentioned spray flux. Namely, the spray flux containing Al (alloy) by the amount of which the Al content coefficient calculated by the following formula is made 1.1 to 15. Al content coefficient=[(Al% in welding wireX10)+Al% in flux]/(1+alloy ratio in flux).
