NEW MATERIAL:A pyrazole derivative of formula I (R1 is 1W4C alkyl, phenyl or substituted phenyl having alkyl, halogen, nitro, etc. as substitution group; R2 is a group defined in R1 or OH; R3 is H, 1W8C alkyl, phenyl or a group defined in R1).
EXAMPLE: 1-Phenyl-3,5-dimethyl-4-(2-hydroxyhexafluoro-2-propyl)pyrazole.
USE: Herbicide especially useful as an agent for the presprouting treatment of soil or as a herbicide for the early or medium growing stage of paddy rice plant.
PROCESS: For example, the compound I is prepared by reacting a compound II (R4 is R1 or methoxy, or ethoxy) with a hydrazine III.
