Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I [(R1 is 1W4C alkyl; R2 is 1W12C alkyl or 2W4C alkenyl; X is H, halogen, 1W4C alkyl, or aryl-(1W4C alkoxy)].
EXAMPLE: 1-( 2, 4-Dichloro-5-isopropoxyphenyl )-3-tert-butyl-4-methyl-Δ2-1, 2, 4- triazolin-5-one.
USE: Herbicide having excellent controlling effect especially to the weed before sprouting or at the initial stage of growth.
PROCESS: The compound of formula I is prepared by cyclizing a compound of formula VII in the presence of a base. The compound of formula VII can be prepared either by the reaction of a compound of formula V with a compound of formula IV obtained by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III (Z is halogen) or by the reaction of the compound of formula IV with phosgene followed by the reaction with an amino of formula R2NH2.
