Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate detection and monitor of anomaly of a rotary material with a simple circuit by extracting frequency information, which is included in the envelope of acoustic signals, by a simple average frequency operator and comparing this information with a monitor level.
CONSTITUTION: It is utilized that double harmonic wave components of the number of rotations appear in frequency components of the envelope of acoustic signals for anomaly occurrence of a rotary machine, and anomaly is detected by increment of the average frequency. That is, acoustic signals detected by acoustic detector 1 fitted to the rotary material are amplified by preamplifier 2 and main amplifier 3 and are inputted to filter 4. Filter 4 extracts only frequency components corresponding to anomaly out of detected acoustic signals, and envelope circuit 5 takes the envelope and inputs it to average frequency operator 6. The average frequency calculated by operator 6 is inputted to comparator 7 and is compared with a monitor level. When the average frequency exceeds the monitor level, alarm signal A is generated. Consequently, anomaly of the rotary material can be detected easily by a simple circuit.
