Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the titled device and detect the generation of faults in detail and accurately with the simple contents of operation and easy discrimination method by finding the distribution of amplitude of an vibration signal from a rotary machine and discriminating whether the vibration status is a fault or not. CONSTITUTION:A rotary machine 1 to be monitored is provided with a detector 2 to detect vibration or acceleration. A detection signal from the detector 2 is amplified by an amplifier 3 and, after removing a low frequency drift through a by-pass filter 4, inputted to an operator 5. The input signal is operated on the basis of the operational means set up by an operational function setter 6 to find the distribution of amplitude. The distribution of amplitude is discriminated on the basis of the discrimination means set up by a discrimination function setter 8, i.e., if the vibration status is normal, the distribution of amplitude is regarded as normal distribution. Then the found distribution of amplitude is discriminated whether it is close to the normal distribution or not to discriminate the fault of the vibration status and the discriminated result is displayed on display device 9.
