Abstract

PURPOSE: To avoid the occurrence of the erroneous counter signals although the noise signal is recorded at the silence part of the tape.
CONSTITUTION: Silence detection circuit 1 detects the silence parts of the magnetic tape, and these detected silence parts are counted by counter circuit 2. Then a comparison is given between the desired music number memorized in memory circuit 3 and the count value of cicurit 2 at gate circuit group 4. And when the coincidence is obtained, the desired number is reproduced, and other numbers are set under the high-speed reproduction mode. For the automatic music selector device thus formed, if the noise is recorded at the silence part, FF10d is reset for the operation time by retrigger mono-multi 10c featuring the longer operation time. As a result, no count pulse is generated from circuit 1. Thus the erroneous counting due to the noise at the silence part can be prevented, ensuring the accurate counting of the silence parts at all times.
