Abstract
PURPOSE: To protect the strip from damages, by detecting the pressing force applied to the wrapper roll, and comparing this pressing force with the set value to change the position of the wrapper roll in a way to eliminate the deviation, when oiling a hot strip at a high speed.
CONSTITUTION: The position of a fixed arm 3 of a wrapper roll 2 is detected by a position detector 1. When the position of the roll 2 is found, this signal is sent to a control device 10. Here, it is compared with the signal 11 of position set value, and the deviation signal thereof is amplified, and is sent to a servo valve 12. As a result, the oil from the servo valve 12 is sent into a cylinder 4 through pipings 13, 14 to operate the piston, thereby changing the position of the arm 3, and operating in a way to decrease said deviation. In this method, an optimum coil pressing force is maintained, and the enhancement of yield and reduction of mechanical damage may be achieved.
