Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a composite agent used as a thixotropic agent with good disperability to a paint, a toothpaste or the like comprising highly branched high density polyethylene fibers and an inorganic thixotropic agent and using an aqueous adhesive agent such as cement, gypsum plaster or the like and an organic solvent.
CONSTITUTION: (A) Highly branched high density polyethylene fibers and (B) an inorganic thixotropic agent are compounded to provide a composite agent. Herein, as (A), the fibers which is made from ethylene gas as feed material and made into a fibrous form by a special technique are used to impart a thixotropy in a field of various sealing agents, calking agents, adhesive agents, paints or the like and, for example, fibers with inherent density 0.96g/cm2 and an average length 0.5W 3.00mm are designated. As (B), finely divided silica clays or the like are designated and the using weight ratio (B)/(A) is 1/30W50/1, preferably 1/10W10/1. The obtained composite agent is used at a concentration of about 0.1W10wt% against an objective substance and can impart thixotropy.
