Abstract

PURPOSE: To conduct an automatic and correct printing on a fabric such as towel material for which the pitch of printing position is not constant by a method wherein the actual length of each section of the printed material is detected and the position of each screen portion is adjusted.
CONSTITUTION: Simultaneously with the driving of an endless belt 2, a detector 10 is operated, a pulse generator 9 rotates, and the number of pulses is fed in a computer 23. The detector 10 detects the passage of the pile portion 3A and the hem portions 3B of a towel material 3, and stops the belt 2 after a feed over a length corresponding to one sheet of towel. Based on the data from the detector 10 and the generator 9, the computer 23 calculates and memorizes the actual length of each section L of the towel material 3 which has sequentially passed by the measurement position, calculates the screen position adjustment amount for each printing unit 6, and drives and controls a positioning motor 11 to move and adjust each screen.
