Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide the title steel contg. C, Si, Mn, P, Ni, Cr, Mo, Cu, S and N as essential components or further contg. one or more out of Se, Te and Ca and suitable for the external decoration of a watch.
CONSTITUTION: The title steel contains, by wt., C≤0.08%, Si≤1.0%, Mn≤1.0%, P≤0.040%, Ni 7.0W12.0%, Cr 17.0W22.0%, Mo≤3.0%, Cu≤2.0%, S 0.05W 0.25% and N 0.07W0.25% as essential components or further contains one or more out of Se≤0.2%, Te≤0.2% and Ca≤0.02% as machinability enhancing elements. The addn. of N prevents unfavorable influence of lowering in corrosion resistance due to the addn. of S, and this effect is esp. remarkable in a low Mn high S material.
