Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate the turn-off control of thyristors, by connecting switching elements in series with windings which are coupled according to prescribed turn ratios to reactors connected between thyristors and load terminals.
CONSTITUTION: Gate signals are applied with a phase difference of 120° to thyristors 6U+, 6V+ and 6W+. Gate signals are applied with a phase difference of 180° to thyristors 6U+ and 6U-, 6V+ and 6V-, 6W+ and 6W-. When no gate signal is applied to a gate turn-off thyristor 9, gate signals are applied to the thyristors 6U+, 6V-, 6W+. As a result, terminals U, W of a load 4 have the same potential as a DC power source 1 and the potential on another terminal V is zero. Throughout about 50μsec since the vanishment of the gate signal for the thyristor 6W+, the signal for the gate turn-off thyristor 9 is supplied and the potential of the DC power source 1 is applied to a winding 8 to produce an inverse voltage.
