Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily and surely raise the rotational breakdown strength of a clutch facing without deteriorating its friction properties, by interposing reinforcing filaments between the vortical layers of a band while vortically winding the band.
CONSTITUTION: A band 1, which is prepared by impregnating a mixed solution of a thermoplastic resin etc. into a substrate made of fibers, is vortically wound to manufacture a clutch facing. Reinforcing filaments are interposed between the vortical layers of the band 1 while it is vortically wound. Special strings 2, wires 3, metal tapes 4 or the like are used separately or in combination as the reinforcing filaments. The wound band 1 is set in a metal die and heated and pressurized by a hotpress. According to this method, the reinforcing filaments 2W4 are easily embedded, a product of high rotational break-down strength is obtained and the friction properties of the clutch facing are not deteriorated.
