Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently replace a liner for a brake shoe, by providing the liner separately from the body of the brake shoe and removably attaching the liner to the body of the shoe.
CONSTITUTION: A liner 1 is provided separately from the body 2 of a brake shoe. A dovetail groove 3 is provided on the liner fitting face of the brake shoe body 2. The backing metal 4 of the liner 1 is provided with projections 5, which can be fitted in the dovedail groove 3. As a result, the liner 1 can be removably fitted into the divetail groove of the brake shoe body 2 in a direction from the axis of rotation of a drum 6. Anti-tumbling members 8 are protruded on both sides of the brake shoe 2, which extend perpendicularly to the backing metal 4 of the liner 1. The anti-tumbling members are located in contact with the backing metal 4 to prevent the liner 1 from tumbling and surely thrust a liner part 7 on the drum 6.
