Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the abrasion resistance without impairing the shielding performance by coating an alloy composed of Ni, Cr and B onto the tape sliding surface of the shielding case.
CONSTITUTION: Coating part 3 is provided at the center of the upper part of the tape running surface on the front face of the magnetic head. Then concavity 5 of a fixed depth is provided at the position mentioned above of shielding case 1, and the metal alloy composed of Ni, Cr and B is coated to concavity 5. The coated alloy is then fused through the heat treatment in the furnace, and part of the alloy forms a solid solution on the surface of case 1.
