Abstract

PURPOSE: A method of concentrating a specified component present in a gaseous mixture which method comprises recycling a whole amount of a desorption gas to the gaseous mixture feedstock, repeating a adsorption-desorption cycle, and concentrating the specified component to a desired concentration, whereby it becomes possible to stably operate an apparatus with the ease of the manufacture thereof.
CONSTITUTION: The gaseous mixture feedstock is introduced from a gas-supplying tube 2 via a valve 3 into an adsorption layer 1 at the lower part thereof. Gaseous substances which can selectively be separated, are absorpted, and then the remaining gas is discharged via a valve 4 through a discharge tube 5 from the process line. At the same time, by driving a vacuum pump 7 and opening a valve 6, the pressure in the adsorption layer 1 is lowered than that applied to introduce the gaseous mixture feedstock, and part of the remaining gas which is discharged from the upper part of a adsorption layer 1', is introduced via a valve 8 into the upper part of the adsorption layer 1 to desorpt the adsorption gas. The desorption gas is vented through a vacuum pump 7.
