Abstract

PURPOSE:To find the operation of a safety device by warning and lamp indication by linking one end of a movable piece to the safety device, and operating a switch outside of a capacitor with bellows provided at a part of a case based on the movement of the movable piece. CONSTITUTION:When decomposed gas is generated due to an internal fault in a capacitor and the like and the inner pressure in a case is increased, a lead plate 42 of a safety device 4 is broken by the deforming force of the case. Therefore, the safety device 4 is divided into two parts, and the space between them is expanded. A linking rod 43 is pulled out of the ring part of a movable piece 6. The linkage between the movable piece 6 and the safety device 4 is disengaged. The movable piece 6 is moved by the returning force of a spring 5. A top protruding part 61 of the movable piece 6 elongates bellows 22 provided in the case. An actuating lever for a switch 23 which is attached in the close proximity with the bellows outside the case is pushed up. Thus the switch can be operated. In this way, the capacitor can be automatically released from a power source, lamp indication is performed and warning can be issued. This is convenient for maintenance.

Effects of the Invention The capacitor equipped with the safety device of the present invention is convenient for maintenance because it is possible to communicate to the outside that the safety device has operated through an alarm, display, etc. It is extremely convenient for maintenance because it is possible to automatically disconnect the capacitor from the power supply, display a lamp, or issue an alarm in response to an operation signal without causing an unnoticed power factor drop. In addition, since the switch is mounted externally, only a bellows is attached to the case, and there is no need to provide any special lead-out terminals, so installation is easy and there is no risk of compromising the reliability of the capacitor. It has great industrial and practical value.
