Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the chatter in input and output and improve the feeling of steering on the basis of a smooth proportioning characteristic, by setting phase differences among planet gears to raise the total intermeshing ratio.
CONSTITUTION: A sung gear 11a with 42 teeth, a ring gear 14a with 66 teeth and three planet gears 12A, 12B, 12C are provided. An angle difference of 90° is set between the planet gears 12A, 12B clockwise in Fig. An angle difference of 210 to 240° is set between the planet gears 12A, 12C clockwise in Fig. The intermeshing phase is inverted at every 30° on the basis of the planet gear 12A. The phase of the gear 12B is inverse and that of the gear 12C is intermediate with regard to the reference gear 12A. Therefore, the intermeshing of the gears 12A, 12B, 12C is overlapped by the phase differences. As a result, the total intermeshing ratio is approximate to 2.0, the slip is very little and the transmission angular velocity does not vary.
