CONSTITUTION:A strip 1 passes a tail end detector 9 and an inlet side pinch roll 4, linked to the length measuring device, and reaches an outlet side pinch roll 5, with a decision made for whether made or not a shearing 3, and is discharged to a kick off table 6 in a manner as left in the state of being sheared or unsheared, respectively. Now with a comparison made between lX and l1, for lX>=l1, a shear command is outputted to the shear 3, with a shearing operated, and a discharge is made to the table 6. For lX<=l1, no shear command is outptted with a discharge made to the table 6. (where: lX: Strip length, l1: Distance between shear point of the shear and outlet side pinch roll).
