Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:β-Phenylpropionic acid derivative of formula I (X is H, halogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy; R1R4 are H, halogen, CN, lower alkyl, substituted or non-substituted phenyl; Y is IIWV).
USE: Insecticide effective to various noxious insects in home (mosquito, fly, etc.), in field or garden (tobacco cutworm, grass moth, etc.), etc.
PROCESS: Reaction of a carboxylic acid of formula VI or its reactive derivative (acid halide) with an alcohol of formula YH, its reactive derivative (halide, sulfoxylate, etc.) or its amine, in the presence of a condensation agent affords the objective compound of formula I.
