NEW MATERIAL:Tricyclo(4,3,1,12,5)undecane-1-carboxylic acid alkylamide of formula I (R is 8W12C straight chain alkyl).
EXAMPLE: N-n-Octyltricyclo(4,3,1,12,5)undecane-1-carboxylic acid amide.
USE: Drugs for man and animal, having antiviral activity.
PROCESS: Tricyclo(4,3,1,12,5)undecane-1-carboxylic acid of formula II (novel compound) or its reactive derivative is made to react with an alkylamine of formula III to afford the compound of formula I. The compound II can be prepared, e.g. from the corresponding 1-bromo-compound by Koch reaction.
