Abstract

PURPOSE: A non-fogging film-forming composition capable of forming a scratch- resistant, water-repellent, lustrous film on the surface of glass products, plastic products, etc., comprising the prepolymer of a vinyl monomer, the hydrolysate of an organosilane, and a curing catalyst.
CONSTITUTION: A non-fogging film-forming composition contains the component (A), the prepolymer of one or more vinyl monomers selected from hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate, polyethyleneglycol mono(meth)acrylate, polyethyleneglycol di (meth)acrylate, methoxypolyethyleneglycol (meth)acrylate, dimethylaminoalkyl (meth)acrylate, and N-vinylpyrrolidone, the component(B), the hydrolysate of a compound of the formula Si(OR)4 or Si(OR')3 (R is a 1W4C alkyl group, R' is a 1W3C alkyl group, and X is a 1W3C alkyl group), and the component(C), selected from 1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]undecene-7 and its salts.
