Abstract

PURPOSE:To degrease a product without using an org. solvent and forming an oxide film harmful to the product by heating the product in a controlled atmosphere in a degreasing furnace to vaporize oil adhered to the product without burning. CONSTITUTION:A product with cutting oil adhered is set on pallet 16 in degreasing furnace body 20 of degreasing furnace 3. Air 26 preheated 24 with exhaust gas 28 from a gas carburizing furnace and town gas 32 are mixed in baffle 39 and fired 23 to maintain the internal temp. of furnace 3 at about the vaporizing temp. of the oil below the ignition point, i.e. 500+ or -20 deg.C. Gas 28 is of 800-850 deg.C, and it is used to preheat air 26-200 deg.C by heat exchange 24, cooled to about 400 deg.C, and fed into furnace 2, where it vaporizes the oil adhered to the product. Pallet 16 is then sent into the gas carburizing furnace with sending means 4 together with the product from outlet side door 56 opened by moving piston rods 54, 54 upward. The vaporized oil is burned in combustion chamber 47, and this combustion heat is transferred to furnace 3 and fed into a gas burner of the carburizing furnace.
