Abstract
PURPOSE: To make the read speed of photoelectric conversion information high by dividing photoelectric conversion elements of a line sensor into n-number groups consisting of m-number elements respectively and by providing a distributing circuit which sends pulses to n-number output lines and m-number output lines.
CONSTITUTION: This reader is constituted by line sensor 1, shift registers 21 and 22, OR gate OR1 and OR2, etc. Line sensor 1 is formed by integrating and arranging photo diodes PD1, PD2..., and they are divided into n-number groups consisting of m-number photo diodes respectively. When the period of transfer clock pulses is denoted as Tc, the output of a LED in a corresponding position of each group appears successively at period nTc at the output end, and optical information of the group appears successively at period Tc at the output end of the second group. One- line components of LEDs are divided into n-number groups, and each group is read at period nTc, and turning-on pulses are given to bases of n-number MOSFETs. Only by this operation, read of all LED information is completed by applying clock pulses required for one-line components of element scanning.
