Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare a polymer which improves the spreadability, storage stability and film-forming properties of a coating resin composition, by reacting a polymer having carboxyl groups and ester groups with a perfluoro group-containing epoxide.
CONSTITUTION: A polymer having perfluoroalkyl group side chains prepared by the addition-reaction of (A) a polymer I [R is phenyl or 1W12C alkoxy; R1 is 1W12C alkyl; n is integer of 10W2,000 (pref. 50W1,500)] with (B) 0.1W50mol%, on the basis of the recurrent unit molecule of (A), of a compound II, III or IV (Rf is 3W20C perfluoroalkyl; R2 is 1W12C alkyl). The component (A) is, e.g., a monoalkyl ester of a vinyl ether/maleic acid copolymer, etc. and the component (B) is, e.g. 3- perfluorononyl-1,2-epoxypropane, etc.
