Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it possible to inspect a defect of a nozzle in a three-diamensional shape and also to detect even a small defect of the nozzle, by specifying the emitting direction of an ultrasonic wave to the normal line of a wall surface in the nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: To the external wall of nozzle part 2 of a pressure container, ultrasonic special shoes 7, 8 and 9 for detecting defects 4, 5 and 6 are fitted. Those shoes 7, 8 and 9 have a function of holding an incident angle of θ≃45° to defects, i.e. an angle of approximately 45° to the normal line of the inside wall surface of nozzle part 2. Then, an ultrasonic wave is emitted from ultrasonic defectoscope 10 of shoe 7, for example, and caused to strike on defect 4 at a plane angle of θ≃45° while a plane including the incident axis and reflection axis of the ultrasonic wave slants against the center axis of nozzle part 2. This angle is so set that even when the defect is small, the ultrasonic wave can easily be reflected, and the ultrasonic wave reflected by defect 4 is detected by defectoscope 10.
