Abstract

PURPOSE: To enchance durability and service life of an electrophotographic receptor without impairing characteristics of a photoconductive layer, by forming a resin layer hardenable by ultraviolet rays or electron beams on the surface of the photoconductive layer.
CONSTITUTION: An unsaturated monomer is introduced to a base compound, such as acrylic resins or vinyl acetate by subjecting it to epoxy acid addition, epoxy amine addition, esterification, ether exchange, or the like, to give an unsaturation degree (mole of unsaturated group per kg of resin) of about 0.5W3. A solution of the above resin is coated and dried on the surface of a photoconductive layer, and the hardened film of the above resin is formed by irradiation of ultraviolet rays. A sensitizer such as benzoins or azo compounds is preferably added to the above resin solution in an amount of about 0.5W5wt%.
