Abstract

PURPOSE: To strengthen a negative pressure suction force based on fluid inertia, by providing surging chambers and bypasses so that the bypasses communicate with the male screw part of a spark plug and the surging chambers and the bypasses are located on an air inlet passage which extends from an air inlet hole of the side of a body to the interior of the body.
CONSTITUTION: An air inlet port 5 is provided in the outside surface of a gasket 4 placed on a part into which a spark plug is screwed. A plurality of surging chambers 9 and bypasses 7, which extend from the surging chambers to the male screw part of the spark plug, are provided on an air inlet passage 10 which communicates with a main opening 6 on the inside of the body of the gasket. The relation between the length and cross-sectional area of the passage is so prescribed that a force going out of a cylinder is reduced and negative pressure at next moment is strengthened. As a result, a pulsation supercharging effect is raised to effectively introduce secondary air into an internal combustion engine.
