Abstract

PURPOSE: To aim at an increase of output by partitioning off a supercharging chamber at the opposite side to a combustion chamber as holding piston in between at the lower part of a cylinder, and constituting the suction air pressurized when the piston goes down at both suction and expansion stroke so as to fed to combustion chamber.
CONSTITUTION: Partition walls 1d and 1d' to be isolated from a crankcase 1c and formed in the lower part of each cylinder 2 (2a and 2b), while each supercharging chamber 10 (10a and 10b) is partitioned off in a gap with a bottom wall of each piston 3 (3a and 3b) of the cylinder 2. Suction ports 10 (11a and 11b) and discharge ports 13 (13a and 13b) are formed in each supercharging chamber 10, and the suction part 11 is connected to a suction pipe via a suction manifold, while each discharge port 13 is connected to suction ports 5a and 5b via a manifold 20. And, in these ports 11 and 13, there are provided with reed valves 12a and 12b (14a and 14b) which allow air to flow in only the direction of inflow or outflow to or from the supercharging chamber 10.
